Warta took the center stage in a State Cup Final where
they squared off against Milwaukee Bavarians u23 at
Wheeling High School on Saturday morning. Bukola
Abhulwahab scored a second half hat trick to pace Warta
into their first State Cup Championship ever.
Alan Salmeron opened the scoring in the 16th minute from the penalty spot after Abdulwahab was fouled and Salmeron made no mistake from the spot to put his team ahead early.
Minutes later Abdulwahab had another chance but shot was wide off target and same player twenty minutes later was in the spotlight again as he took the game by storm.
In second half, a huge mistake by Warta defense in the opening minute gave Bavarians an equalizer but that was about all they could manage that day before Abdulwahab went on scoring three goals and Angelo Oquendo scored the final goal in the 83rd minute to secure the win for Warta u23 who became the Illinois State Champions.
This is the first State Championship for the u23 team and second in two years for the Club as they first team won the Open Division last year.
