Warta under 23 thru to State Cup semifinals;

Warta shutout Mundelein SC 4:0 in quarterfinals of the IL State Cup Under 23 on Wednesday night.

Warta looked well in control in the early stages of the even first half of the State Cup quarterfinal match against home side Mundelein SC at the Canlan Sportsplex of Lake Barrington.

Most of the first half was fought in the midfield and very limited chances on goal, until Wartas' Hugo Garcia put his team ahead in the 28th minute of play.  Minute later, Garcia had another opportunity but his shot was off target.

Mundelein almost found an equalizer in the 35th minute of play from a free kick which hit the crossbar and ball was collected by the keeper in the box before anyone reacted to the bounce.

In second half, Warta used all of their seven substitutes and fresh legs caused all types of problems for the home side, Bukola Abdulwahab scored two goals and assisted on one to Jesus "Chuy" Rodriguez to make the final score 4:0 for the visiting Warta team.

Warta will face Libertyville FC 1974 in the State semifinal match next week in Libertyville Illinois.
